Meet the Directors!
Tianna Collings is a Long Beach-native with over 10 years as an educator, including her 4+ years of leadership at The Art Spot. As Executive Director, Tianna cultivates a welcoming and inclusive environment while overseeing daily operations and business management.
Tianna is passionate about community relations, and enjoys making connections with our BKBIA neighbors and Long Beach businesses. She thrives as a teacher (drawing from her Early Childhood Education degree), and supports weekly classes, leads monthly workshops, and hosts private events.
In addition to her director role at The Art Spot, Tianna enjoys playing clarinet in the LB Community band, exploring new artistic mediums, and hanging with her cat. Stop by the studio to have a chat with Tianna about getting involved with The Art Spot!
Robn Bacchus is dedicated to the success of The Art Spot and has served in a plethora of roles since co-founding the space in 2019. In her current position as Program Director, Robn oversees calendar planning, curriculum development, instructor support and marketing/communications.
She loves teaching thematically and is passionate about building safe spaces for creativity and growth. Although being an Art Teacher is her favorite job, Robn is also a travel educator, youth mentor, art fabricator, sign painter and storyteller. Reach out to Robn to brainstorm ideas for future programming, funding, or opportunities!
Both Tianna & Robn started off in Long Beach's community art world as interns for their mentor, Gregory Pickens, a beloved art teacher and muralist. For over 10 years, they have worked together to share the joy of art in spaces such as the ArtExchange, Westerly School, ArtExpo, and StudioPick. In 2023, Gregory gave Tianna & Robn the opportunity to step up and take over his art business at 4356 Atlantic Ave. Aspiring to reach a larger community, StudioPick transitioned into The Art Spot in 2024, keeping Mr.Pickens' legacy alive, but seeking new heights. Tianna & Robn are grateful to Greg for his continued support and now reinvest in the next generation through an intern team of their own :)
